When my late dad passed away a couple of years back, we didn't have any proper, good quality portrait of him, just a pic of him in a restaurant with the owner's hand draping over his and mum's shoulders.
I was so blessed to be able to touch it up, removing the hand and making the background neutral so it was good enough for the funeral. It is framed and mum now hangs it on the wall.
A friend of mine lost his son in October, 11. He was only 21 and they didn't have a good pic of him. The most recent and decent picture was one taken in a restaurant with the family. It was grainy and low res. I told her about my dad's picture and she asked me to help. She wanted to make a ceramic pic of her late son for the stone.
It was a big responsibility but also an incredible privilege. The picture now rest in the same cemetery where my dad is also, forever. Again, what a privilege to be able to contribute into another person or family, whether it is for capturing happy, memorable or to comfort and assisting in the healing process. Thank you Lord.
